My mother receives a magazine from Sunrise Assisted Living. I read everything I can get my hands on about the motivational side of aging (yes, there is one!) and this is my latest find. Most of these are women you are familiar with, but it never hurts to have a reminder that wonderful things can happen and we can reinvent our lives at ANY time in our life. I’ll add to this list as I find interesting women. Help me out and send information you have about women doing amazing things after 50.
- Grandma Moses - started painting at 76
- Jessica Tandy - only won international fame in her 80s
- Dorris Haddock - walked across America at 90!
- Annie Proulx (The Shipping News-Pulitzer Prize) - published first collection of stories at 53
- Julia Child - published first cookbook at 49
