Grandparenting long-distance vs. live
Grandparenting long distance is a challenge. Technology has enabled grandparents to see and talk to their grandchildren in real time and that is fabulous, but there is no substitute for getting splashed while they are having a bath and laughing. Those toothless grins, incredibly soft skin and chubby feet just warm your heart.
I finally have been able to take a few days off because I know my own mother is being well cared for. So, my husband and I made a beeline to southern California to see “our” new little one, and of course his Mom and Dad. He is thriving at 3 months due to excellent parenting. It amazes me how new parents are so adept!
