The 2007 Nobel Prize winner in Literature was described by the Swedish Academy as “that epicist of the female experience, who with skepticism, fire and visionary power has subjected a divided civilization to scrutiny.” Only the 11th woman to receive the award in literature, she never finished high school, is largely self-educated and is a great example of what it means to embrace your talent and beliefs and never give up! We are thrilled that a 50+ woman has received this important prize.
