One of my friends sent me a card when I turned 50. It was a portrait of a “seasoned” woman with dyed red hair and Jackie O sunglasses, driving a red convertible with a big grin on her face, and her little white dog peering out. Inside it said “You’ll run out of road before you run out of gas!” And, I realized that this is exactly what I aspire to do. But, I’m a social creature and don’t want to go all by myself so I invite you along for the journey.

We chose to focus on JOY this month. We get so busy in our lives that sometimes we miss the wonderful things that we could be enjoying “in the moment.” When I’m driving down the country roads near where I live, on my way to yet another medical system encounter on behalf of my mother, I often have to remind myself to notice the beauty all around me.
