Michele’s coming for my wardrobe assessment. I have a little angst over the condition of my house since I work so much and it takes a low priority these days. So, what does an entrepreneur who spends money on her business and fired the housekeeper do? Well, clean the house, of course.
Our meeting came at a good time for me because I had just emptied out most of my closet to give clothes to one of our local organizations that cares for troubled women and children.
She arrives (and might I say, looking fabulous as always and making it look natural and effortless), we buzz upstairs, and fill out some paperwork and proceeded to pull the closet apart starting with slacks, then on to tops, suits, dresses, handbags, shoes, etc.
We created four stacks…clothes to be tailored/altered, clothes to toss, keep and keep for just a while (you have to have something to wear don’t you?)
As I tried on item after item, Michele gave me tips about what suits my shape, height, weight and what line of garment, length, colors and patterns are most flattering. And, as she specializes in posture, and I NEED to improve mine, she gave me a book and said “start walking.” Ha, ha, just kidding. She did give me invaluable lessons about posture however.
It got to be kind of amusing as I’d pull something out of the closet, roll my eyes, remember that I purchased it in the 80s (remember shoulder pads?) and toss it onto the heap. Ended with two huge stacks to give away and a promise that they would not show up back in my closet! Generally, Michele takes them away with her! But, I promised to give them to a worthy cause.

Pattie,
How about some specifics and the direction you two are going in now?
For example, what tips did she give you about what looks best on you? Shapes, lines, colors, etc. Were you surprised about any clothes she wanted you to keep? Were you surprised about any she wanted you to toss?
What kind of posture tips?
What is the next step?
Merci!
