Whether traveling for business or pleasure, it is essential that you take special care of yourself while away from your familiar home environment. Most of us 50+Fabulous women usually have our homes set up so that everything is just right for our lifestyle. For me, this is especially true of my bedroom, which is set up for serenity and a good night’s sleep. This is very important for me because I am like the “Princess and the Pea” about where I sleep. Therefore, finding the right travel accommodations, with a good mattress and lots of good pillows, is essential for me so that I can be well-rested for work or play.
In addition to good rest, taking care of yourself on a journey also means good food. When traveling, we are usually eating out for our meals, which means different nutrition from when we are at home. Most of us also tend to eat too much at restaurants – it’s part of the fun of the trip. However, if we don’t take special care about what we eat, our bodies often rebel as we aren’t quite as flexible as we used to be! So, be sure to include at least some good eating habits in your travels.
A wonderful way to take special care of yourself while traveling is to add some pampering to your agenda, http://www.vagablogging.net/extreme-self-care-whilst-youre-traveling.html. If you are in business meetings all day, there is nothing like an evening bubble bath to unwind. When you have been on your feet all day sight-seeing, you might want to try a massage as well so that you can do it all again the next day!
Speaking of pampering, one of the best trips I ever took was a week with my friend Pam at the Lake Austin Spa Resort, http://www.lakeaustin.com in January 1999. Our only decisions each day were how we wanted to take care of our mind/body/spirit that day. It was truly wonderful and left us ready to take on the world for the rest of the year. We had planned to make it an annual sojourn, but somehow that never happened.
