It’s Never Too Late To Be Who You Might Have Been!

It’s Never Too Late To Be Who You Might Have Been!

Do what's right for YOU!

This month’s column is about stepping into courage and doing what’s right for you and your life. It’s about listening to the calling of your own heart… risking approval, risking conformity and standing out in your Greatness! It’s about checking in with yourself in an intuitive way, listening to the divine whispers that nudge you forward, gently guiding you in one direction or another. And then… taking action… living from your core authentic self. Being you, being real, and finding the rhythm to your own drum! This is the mid-life journey!

What does this have to do with finance?

You might say, what does this have to do with finances? Everything.

How to attract more MONEY!

First of all, when you allow yourself to be guided by your inner voice, you allow your life to unfold in such a way that you begin living from your highest self, your full potential. Over time, you develop the quality of confidence and trust in your ability to “know what’s best for you.”  Living from a place of “what’s best for you,” brings you great joy. You have more energy. You are attractive to more people. You attract in more money! The primary goal isn’t to attract in more money, money is a secondary benefit from living an authentic passion-filled life.

Wisdom to share

I want to share with you thoughts from some of my favorite authors on money, right livelihood and creating the rhythm of your own drum.

Marsha Sinetar, a local Sonoma author, wrote the book, Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow. Here’s what she has to say: “If people can cultivate self-respect and inner security and develop a commitment to their own talents, they can earn as much money as they need, or want. The task is easier than people imagine. All it takes is everything they have to give: all their talent, energy, focus, commitment and all their love.”

In his book, The Seven Laws of Money, Michael Phillips, a former banker and president of many money giving groups, states: “right livelihood is a concept that places money secondary to what you are doing. It’s something like a steam engine, where the engine, fire and water working together create steam for forward motion. Money is like steam, it comes from the interaction of passion (fire) and water (persistence) brought together in the right circumstance, the engine.

Stuart Wilde has this to say: “The key to success is to raise your own energy; when you do, people will naturally be attracted to you. And when they show up, bill ‘em.”

John Kabat-Zinn, in his book, Wherever You Go, There You Are, asks us to ask ourselves: “What is my job on the planet? Otherwise, we may wind up doing somebody else’s job and not even know it. And what’s more, that somebody else might be a figment of our imagination and maybe a prisoner of it as well. Rarely do we question and then contemplate with determination what our hearts are calling us to do and to be. Once the Universe is your employer, very interesting things start to happen, even if someone else is cutting your paycheck. But you do have to be patient. It takes time to grow this way of being in your life. The place to start of course is right here. The best time? How about now?”

Some of the women role models I look up to who beat their own drums are Madonna, Oprah, Diane Sawyer and the late Mother Teresa.

I welcome hearing about your life role models and how you, too, are beating your own drum in this stage of life we are so fortunate to be in!
