Ignite Your Fire!

Would you cook more if you had better knife skills? Does preparing a quick meal seem daunting because it takes you two hours to prepare a 30-minute meal? Do you not have the confidence to make a delicious dinner for friends or family and opt again to eat out? Like to meet the love of your life?

Well, here’s the deal! Take a cooking class! Now, I’m not going to sound like one of those late-night television, paid programming spots that declare,

I followed Beazer’s All-You-Can-Eat Plan, and in three weeks went from a size 14 to a size 1-1/2! If I can do it, so can you!

However, after taking culinary classes, I did acquire proficient knife skills and learned the tricks for putting together a 30-minute meal in 15 minutes. I also gained the self-confidence to cook for friends and family as well as the rich and famous! Did I meet the love of my life? Yes, I did! Classes presented me the opportunity to pursue a profession for which I have great passion!

From the basics to sushi and Moroccan cooking, today’s curriculums educate people of all ages and abilities. So whether you’re a novice or an experienced cook interested in learning new techniques, culinary classes are a perfect way to empower and inspire you.

Many types of classes can address your particular aspirations in informative, fun ways while you gain successful experience in the culinary arts. And who knows, you may even meet your soul mate! Here are some of the many types of instruction available to you:

  • Wellness classes give you the knowledge to prepare foods for optimum health. With an emphasis on seasonal or organic foods and whole grains, legumes, vegetables and fruits, you learn to prepare nutritious and delicious foods that provide wellness, energy and stamina.
  • Culinary arts certificate courses provide a more intensive curriculum of study designed to prepare students for entry into the professional food industry. Remember, it’s never too late! Visit http://www.santarosa.edu/instruction/culinary-arts for more information (or check your local community college).
  • Gourmet cookware stores offer a relaxed and fun method for learning cooking skills and techniques. These classes, taught by local and international chefs, also teach participants ways to use the tools and equipment sold in the stores. Another advantage: students and chef instructors usually get a 10% to 15% discount on store wares! Check out http://www.surlatable.com and http://www.degustibusinc.com.
  • Cooking class parties afford you the opportunity to explore cooking or celebrate an occasion by hosting a party. Classes can be hands-on or demonstration, and, if you like, held in your home. Instructors will tailor classes to fit your needs.
  • Private, one-on-one classes are fantastic for those who want special step-by-step, individual attention.
  • Culinary cooking vacations are the ultimate! Imagine baking bread in a pueblo’s adobe oven in Taos, New Mexico. Try assisting a Fijian chef while he prepares a whole roasted pig to be cooked in a lovo, or earth oven. And you haven’t lived until you’ve learned the culinary secrets of Tuscan cooking while taking in breathtaking panoramas of the region!

Ignite your fire! Get empowered! Take a cooking class!
