I am 55 years old and after three marriages, am living on my own, in my own little slice of heaven I call home. I have been on my own for 6 years now, the first three were hard, feeling I needed to continue the relationship game (move on to someone else) when the past couple of years I realized, that it’s nice to date, but having a man around full time is not the answer to happiness. I’m healthy, attractive, date younger men, ride a Harley and the thought of falling back into 24/7 relationship is scary, I’ve spent most of my adult life married, I’m just starting to enjoy everything about my life. Yes it’s a couples world, but have lots of friends, and family around, I don’t feel alone, to me lonely is when you have NO ONE in your life. I’m tired of people feeling that I need to have a man in my life, I felt that way at first but don’t think about it any more. Being with a man is not going to take me to a happy ‘zen’ place. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the company of men, just not all the time, I like my freedom and space.
Happy with my life : )
I am just thrilled to stumble on this site today and see there is something addressing women our age other than More magazine (which I love).
Advice on how children of women in mid-life crisis can cope with the sudden and often bizarre changes of their parents.
Pattie, this is a wonderful site. All kinds of helpful information. Really glad to have found it. I can’t think of anything that isn’t here. I love animals and there are links for them too. Thanks!
I got myself into ahpe, now I need to learn how to dress for my age (55). Living in S Fl I need light weight but do not like to show my upper arms. That is tough down here.
Also, make up for my aging face….
How about a spotlight on personal make overs?
Hi Pattie, I just noticed your web site today. I just turned 56 this Spring. It’s so nice to talk to other women in their 50s. Looking forward to more of your blogs. Thankyou
