As a trained dancer, Kate’s passion for fitness is not surprising. Kate Titus, A.C.E., Nia* is the owner of FIT•BODY•BALANCE, an exercise studio in Santa Rosa, California, where the emphasis is on a balanced approach to fitness.

Kate’s career path started in the fashion industry in New York, and moved to interior design marketing on the West Coast.

Motivated by the birth of her son in 1990, and her desire to be at home to raise him, she created the award-winning La Vie en Rose Studio, a social stationery line sold nationwide in upscale gift and stationery stores. La Vie en Rose’s success gave her both the experience and the confidence necessary for her next entrepreneurial venture.

When Kate retired the business in 2003, she began to explore the interrelationship between Western science and fitness practices and the Eastern philosophies and mind-body techniques. She recognized a disconnect, based on her own experience in gyms, between fitness trainers within the different disciplines. None of the Western, yoga, or Pilates fitness trainers interacted or shared resources and information. She knew that fitness clients would benefit from a balanced program that incorporated all of these practices, as well as non-impact cardio vascular activities for healthy hearts. Therefore, she opened her new studio, FIT•BODY•BALANCE, to bring these disciplines together.

The Integration Fitness™ program she created at FIT•BODY•BALANCE integrates the best, proven techniques into one program. Thus, giving the body the stimulation, challenge and variety it needs and craves, particularly as we enter our Baby Boomer years.

In addition to her work with the studio, she writes regularly for a variety of media and is a sought after speaker.

* Nia is the original Non Impact Aerobics created in Marin County in the mid 80's. It has evolved over the past 20+ years to be Neuro Muscular Integrative Action and is the fusion of dance arts, martial arts and healing arts, done barefoot (non-impact) and to music. It's a full cardio vascular workout that leaves you refreshed and invigorated, instead of spent!
